Greatest Feeling

I think its one of the best feelings when you over hear a stranger that is talking about your Runner. Happened the other day.

Makes all the work you put into your rig worth it and makes you feel a little less crazy lol

It does make you feel good. Had a couple of dykes talking about my ride just the other day and how much they liked the tires i'm running on, as I walk into the store to double check everything. One of the girls grabbed the side of my tire tread too. Hands on bull dykes are funny creatures.

Good stuff.

SERIOUSLY? WTF dude. I'm sure you're real proud of this story but next time why don't you keep your homophobic thoughts to yourself. There's no room here for your ignorance and condescending attitude. Funny creatures? Are you somehow implying that lesbians are lesser beings than yourself? Grow up cro-magnon man. /rant

CRYWOLF really liked your tires but for future reference, doesn't like to be referred to as a "bull-dyke."

It's not too much to ask to respect that.

negative stuff aside,

My father in-law always wants to fill our gas tank when we visit, it's a nice perk especially since we are there once a week and we rotate which vehicle we drive when we do visit. It actually makes me feel a little guilty that he's paying my gas but whatever, the point is he took my runner with the dog, the wife and the sister in-law loaded up and went to fill the tank. While he was there a bunch of "young fella's" as he calls them pulled up next to him and yelled out there window "NICE 4RUNNER, OLD DUDE!!"

Obviously it would have been cool if I was driving, but the old man likes to remind me of that story every now and then as he admires my runner. On a side not he drives a 92 standard cab 4x4 toyota, the mom in-law has a '98 camry, my wife's sister just got a 5th gen black SR5 (cuz she likes my runner) and her hubby has an '04 camry, my wife drives a matrix, my parents have an avalon and a sienna, I know sounds like the new toyota commercial, LOL!!

Haha lets not watch another thread spiral out of control, probably a little heavy on the butch hating but agreed that we should all be accepting here as its about the vehicles.

As for the subject, I went to a McDonald's this morning in downtown Atlanta and when I went to the first window to pay the cashier started asking questions about the truck and ran to the 2nd window when I got there to ask more...they ended up stalling me on my drink so they could run out and take a picture in front of it. I don't think it's really relevant because they have no idea what its for, but funny nonetheless.

As a side note with no racist undertones, black people are without a doubt the funniest people to pull up next to in my truck, can't even begin recalling the funny ass questions I've got from them. Last one asked me if the snorkel was a smokestack :bigok:

Haven't had that yet, though my 4Runner is just 3 days old to me... However, I have had that happen with my P-car and it is :thumb3:

I had a lady ask me one time what year my 4 Runner was when I was parked next to hers. I told her and she started looking at mine and looking at hers then said "mine is the same year, why is yours so different?" I almost laughed when I told her they looked the same to me....long pause as she re-examined both trucks. Then I told her the list of mods like lift, tires, roof rack etc.etc. " Oh thats why, you have a roof rack. I like that." LOL

ha... i have a little project go kart for my nephew that were working on, the other day we were on a hunt for tires and we end up at a local scooter/atv shop.. as i was exiting my truck so was the owner of the shop, i was sol... but i could see as we had our chat he couldn't help but stare at the runner.. he then asked if it was for sale... of course my answer was no... lol.. so far that was my first encounter of of straight forward person who appreciated my truck as much as i did.. it is indeed a great feeling.:biggrin2:

Well it wasn't hating I was just distinguishing between both of the "lesbians." so it made it that much more interesting. They were pretty cool people to talk to so I have nothing against them. Everyone take deep breathes and calm down we can all get through this together. I wouldn't get mad if someone distinguished me as the alpha male in a relationship, it's a good thing.

Sorry to spiral this the wrong way and upset peoples feelings but if you go against the social wave you gotta expect to take some flack once in awhile. Again I'm sorry. It was just a story I enjoyed about my 4Runner, one of many.

Yeah , I don't really think it's a big deal. Much overreaction going on. I personally know a few lesbians that use "dyke" when referring to other lesbians or themselves. I think it's only derogatory if it's meant to be derogatory or preceded with other offensive/profane words.

Oh boy.. :snacker:

Yep...

Based on what I've read there MAY have been a poor choice of words and a nice, sincere attempt at a recovery was made. End of the issue in the open forums, period.

The next post better be about 4Runners, tires etc. period. If not a couple of days away (banned) might be good to allow folks to 'cool down'.

I came out of the store the other day to find another black 4 runner parked next to mine, and a girl make the statement,
"I understand that they're the same, but why does his look bigger?"
Pretty sure I saw the guy's eye twitch as he explained I was running bigger tires. I was doing everything I could to not laugh, I was failing terribly.
