My name is Paul and I like the 4runner (hi Paul!).
I am an active Duty Navy Hospital Corpsman.
Ive been looking and watching the 4runner since 2004 when I was 1st shopping for one when I lived in Corpus Christi TX. After an Iraqi deployment I was set to get a new new 2005 but the opportunity to establish a new mission for the Navy had me back training for most of 2005 and back out to the middle east throughout 2006. Once again I thought the opportunity was there to pick up a new 2007 but with a move to San Diego and building up another new mission for the Navy I was committed for 2 years knowing there wasnt a need to get a new vehicle. My 1991 Honda Accord EX has treated me very well throughout all this and just needs to hang in a bit longer.
I really liked the metallic blue color of the 07-09's and the limited edition always stood out. I finally had and made the time to start a serious look but unfortunately it seems the alignment of the stars and all were not there. I sent out requests from Bellingham WA down to San Diego and over to TX to find a new 2009 blue limited and there just were not any left. I opened it to pre-owned '07 to '09 and found a few sr5's but no limited.
I started reading about the 2010's on here months ago and followed the threads and discussions. I had test driven an '09 pretty thoroughly here (dealer had me sign a release and took the 09 limited out for a 3 hour test drive) and loved how it handled, but didn't like how the center dash/console was set up for the temp gauges and how the 3rd row seats were set up. The next week I test drove a 2010 (dealer wasn't so giving with that test drive, 20 minutes on his course) and though Im not 100% thrilled with the new exterior look, love the interior and especially how they re-designed the center dash and the new floor flush seats.
They finally received a Shoreline blue (again, not the biggest fan of the color change) with black interior with all the specs I wanted (I am going through USAA) and this is how its set up:

I will be going in Thursday to give a final look at it to see if its set up how I want and give it a good feel but I am confident that I will pick it up and enjoy it thoroughly. I will be moving to Oak Harbor, WA next year and will have a blast driving it up around the mountains and pass area for camping and hiking as well as day to day scenic drives.
