Greetings - New 4R owner w/?'s

Hello everyone,

We (me and the bank) are the happy new owners of an 08 Shadow Mica Sport V6.

Brought it home Thursday nite and still trying to figure out all of 4wd combos and how to position the escort, sirius & gps units.

Question #1
How do you start the engine to defrost the windows and keep the doors locked without being inside? (I'd hate to see my new 4R driving down the street without me in it).

If the answer is: you can't, Question #2
What brand/model of remote starters would you recommend assuming professional installation?

If the key is in the ignition, you must lock the door from the outside using another key.

A remote starter will do it, obviously. I have a slightly different scenario. I need to be able to lock the car while it's running so my dog has A/C. The cheap easy fix for me was to have a non-chipped, non-plastic head key cut by a hardware store and lock the door with the key. It cost $1.99 + tax. Because it's thin I usually just toss it under the floormat when I'm not using it. If someone were to break-in the non-chipped key wouldn

Use the key, why didn't I think of that.

I just traded out of an F150 and got use to the keypad for exit & entry (one of few good things about that truck).

Thanks for easy solution. The chip-less key is a real good idea.
