Grill/Brush Guard -- Your opinion wanted!

I want to get a grill/brush guard for my 4runner and install some auxiliary lights. I have found a few and these are the ones I like so far:

Right now I'm leaning towards the first one but mainly because I think it looks better (the picture I attached). But I wanted to get some feedback from people's experience about brush/grill guards. Also, any other ones people know of I'd be interested in seeing.

Also, one thing I do not like about both is it doesn't cover the entire bumper. Your comments are welcome!

I can't give much feedback but I too like the 1st one.

They look similar to a T&H bar , you might want to check them out.

You wanted feedback... I personally don't like how far the first one comes up on your grill... looks too big... i do however like the bull bar look... maybe one that just comes up to the top of the bumper...

How about leaving the front naked;those bars/guards just cause more damage in lower speed fender benders than they protect.
I've seen the bars get a light impact on the left but the whole bar collapses and damages parts that would have been fine without it. These are not for real protection and are just for looks and place to mount lights.

I do like the looks of the first better since the 2nd version looks so huge and goofy on the 4th gens.

Check out the T&H Euro guard , from anythingauto.com....IMO it's tasteful without being gaudy or overkill. There are a few members here that have one.

i think they look wicked, and the quality is amazing. the driving lights available for them also make for the perfect head-turner.

as to the durability issue, i think they are great. i wrapped the front impact skids and pushed a friend out of a stuck spot. it definitely wasn't a gentle process either. there was no structural damage done, which i know b/c as soon as i got home i re-measured the distance between various parts of the body that i had originally checked upon installation.
