Grinding sound on low speed turn

New issues popped up today that has me a little nervous and a lot confused...

During low speed turns near full lock (like near 90 degree turns into/out of a parking space, my driveway, etc), I'm getting a grinding noise from the front left. If I bring wheel slightly away from full lock, the grinding sound goes away. This is only occurring under power, moving slowly, and only on very sharp turns...primarily left turns, but I have heard it with the wheels at near lock to the left and right sides.

I've been doing a bunch of work to the front end recently so I'm concerned I caused the problem along the way. New CVs were installed two weeks back (no observed issues at all since the new CVs). New wheel bearings (NJ636 full assemblies), rotors, calipers and pads were installed this weekend. Everything was put back together the way it came apart and torqued to spec along the way...I'm pretty picky about those things. Went out for a test drive after the installs and didn't observe and issues then...drove it a couple times in the last few days, all seemed good.

On road performance feels normal...granted it's cold as hell and snowy here, so normal is relative. Steering feels fine and no other symptoms are popping up. At full stop, moving the wheel from lock to lock is normal...no grinding sound. I took the front left side back apart tonight, checked for any noticeable issue(s), reassembled and re-torqued everything...went for a test drive and the grinding issue is still there.

I'm at a loss right now...thoughts, suggestions, ideas?

Check the clearance between the dust shield and the rotor.... The dust shield can be easily bent and with the flex of a full lock turn the rotor could rub against it.... If that is the problem it's a real easy fix, just bend it back away from the rotor and you should be fine....

sigh, that did it.

Just in case anyone finds this thread via search in the future, I had a similar issue and it turned out that my driver's side tire was rubbing on the front skid plate at full lock. Hadn't off-roaded or hit anything that I remember, strange, but I hammered it back into place no problem.

I had this happen as well. Scared me until I found out what it was. Once the tire grabs the skid plate, it bends it more such that the rubbing gets worse.
