I want to order some basic stuff to clean my 4runner up.
What do you recommend I order?

What I got

Check out the different kits and get the biggest bang for the littlest buck...

This is a must if you want that real good deep polish shine and wax on your rig:
PC Orbital (from Lowe's or Home Depot, don't remember)
Orbital Velcro pad attachment
polish pads (3)
wax pads (3)
cotton towels (20)

The rest I bought in a kit...
Best of Show Wax (16 oz?)
Machine Polish 1, 2, & 3
Car Wash

In spray bottles
Wheel Cleaner
Speed Shine

Small spray bottle
Vinyl, Tire & Rubber shine

Download the handbook and read through it first. That will give you an idea of how much you can do. I have done the entire thing a couple of times and it took me 2 1/2 days.....solid. It was a lot of work, but I really enjoy doing all of that.

Claying

I forgot to mention that on my list.

The clay goes in a special pad for the PC and it removes all the impurities on the paint, dirt, grime, grease, grit, makes the paint smooth as silk so the polish will polish the paint, and not swirl the paint with all that other junk on there. Definitely use the clay, then polish, then wax.

I keep telling you, I'm right here in town and I got all the stuff you would need to see.

I just want to start off with a nice wash job every once and a while. I used to have a jeep and didnt care as much about it as
I do my 4runner so i just ran it through a car wash but.....
I want my 4runner to SHINE w/ my effort. :artist:

Then get:

Carwash
B.O.S. Wax
Microfiber dry towel

Mix the carwash 2 parts to 1 part B.O.S. to wash your rig and dry with the microfiber towel and your black rig, it'll glow in the dark like mine does when it is clean.

I'd be glad to let you use some and try it out before you lay down the cold hard cash, just let me know and we'll do it on a WARMer day.

I would just start with what Brian listed. The microfiber drying towel is a must. I was a little skeptical about the microfiber stuff until i tried it. All I ever used was those colored absorber things you buy in a tube. But the bad thing with those is that they cause so much friction when drying that they actually pull the wax off the surface. The microfiber drying towel is awesome. You can just about dry the entire truck without having to wring it out once.
Once you get the initial stuff we will talk you into the clay. You can do it buy hand or with the machine. all you have to do is spray some Speedshine on the paint surface and rub the clay back and forth. I can't even explain how smooth it makes the surface. Damn, if wasn't going to be raining every other day, I would do mine this weekend. :artist:

What should I use to wash it with?

For the bucket, you can just get one the the big orange "Homer" buckets from Home Depot. As far as mits, I have been using the Terry cloth mit from Griot's but during the winter I use their wool mit that has the rubber glove liner (my hand never gets cold).
