help!
i am currently at the delar right now tryign to get the tailights installed and i was just told they will not work
on my 03 the connectors wont mate....mine has a small area of raised plastic and they will not conest all the way
did any one else find this problem?
are they doing soethign wrong!!!

yes, they are doing something wrong.
a. remove the light bulb from old taillight (the middle light blub). You'll need the gray socket from the old taillight.
b. insert this gray socket onto your new middle LED taillight. make sure you screw it onto the taillight housing also.
c. re-install the other lights with their respective blub holders.

i think i understand what ur saying but were gettign the same problem.......the male end from my 03 has two very small raides peices of plastic on them....the female end from the 06 led's wont accecpt it......if i am understand u i am to take me male end from my 03 and conect it to the female of the 06....and thats where im gettign this problem.....i wish i had a camera....

That sounds correct. Actually, the female bulb holder comes from the '03.
Think of your new '06 middle light assembly as the "bulb." I know, it's has a piece of gray wire assembly. BUT, treat the middle light assembly as a bulb. Next, get the ;03 old bulb holder (remove old blub), and attach it to your '06 middle light assembly.

honestly I'm not sure why they would change the connectors from '03-'04. All I can say is that the little gray plug only works one way, meaning if it doesn't seem to fit, you have to flip it around and try the other way. But I have an '05 so maybe mine was different.

So does the new 06 LED tail lamps NOT work with the 03-04 tail bulb connector? I only see 05 owners who have had direct success at replacing with the new LED's w/o any problems.
I am considering ordering these new LED tails for my 04 Runner but would like to know if there are going to be compatiablity issues. Thanks...

thats what im finding it will not fit the 03 connector however i think we found a solution...there is just a small peice of raised plastic that we can grind off to make them fit.....after that i will put lots of tape on to ensure the will fit.....as far as grinding i will have to be sure minimal is done that way it is a snug fit.....i do not own a dig camera i will try to get some very soon....sorry guys but thanks for ur support

So am I to understand that there is absolutely NO soldering or any type of cutting or modification necessary to install the 06 taillights on a 05? Also, what is everyone doing with their previous taillights? Any luck selling them on FleaBay?

In order to get the price of $300 shipped, do I have to order over the phone? I noticed that on the Partznet website, it was $150 each but didn't mention anything about shipping. I'd hate to order it and find out it was more than I was expecting.
