Group buy: 2006 T4R LED tail lights $300 shipped

HOLY CRAP! These things look great. The pictures on the other thread do not do them justice, especially on a white 4Runner with the silver coated turn signal bulbs . I was feeling bad about the $300 they cost, but after installing them I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

(Bulbs linked above are the amber/silver 7440, which fit just fine and look really nice. They don't put out quite as much light as the regular uncoated bulbs, but no one would ever notice unless compared side by side. Cost was a little over $9 delivered for the pair.)

Anyway, if you're tempted to get yourself a pair of these tail lamps, go ahead and do it. Compared to the old lamps, the difference in appearance is night and day. Installation is extremely easy, especially if you have a 1/4" deep socket in 10mm size.

I ordered mine off the net. It didn't mention shipping cost, but I went ahead and sent along a seperate e-mail to confirm the free shipping deal. The e-mail was answered within a day.

I was wondering if anyone else here was charged for shipping($6.95) and tax ($18)... I live in PA so I'm not sure if I could be exempt from the tax, but it did state that it was $300 shipped.
 
definitely have to pay tax.

There are places outside of PA that have very similar pricing as partznet. That would save you the tax but shipping may go up.

I'm close enough to partznet to pick my stuff up so I don't mind paying the tax. But if I had to pay tax and shipping I'd probably be able to find my parts cheaper.

So they won't accept orders from Canada? I was going to place mine tomorrow. Dealerships up here want $367 CDN ($312 US) per side! :bash:

Ooops, my bad.
They do accept orders from Canada.
All you need to do is create an account on that site: http://www.trademotion.com/memberservices/index.cfm?action=login&siteid=840.
And then go to Contact us. They usually reply the following day.
It will take two weeks for shipping. I received mine two weeks ago and installed it myself (very easy, you can do it with your eyes closed). Since then I recall at least 7 similar owners appoached me and asked where I bought them. It's really nice. Last weekend we went out fishing. We went on two cars. I asked my wife to drive the 4runner while I follow behind just to adore those lights.

Oh, okay... thanks for the info. Partznet took too long to email me back so I decided to order through www.1sttoyotaparts.com and they were acutally cheaper! $144 each.

do I have to take the car to dealer to do this switch? How hard is it to do it at home?

It is so easy, you can probably do it in 10 minutes (or less) per fixture. After you remove the rectangular cover behind each light, you can figure out the rest (NOTE: remove the cover with care so as not to ruin the external finish). Twist/turn counter clockwise to remove the wire connection, remove two nuts, and off it goes. Transfer the bulbs on your existing tail light to the new one (except for the brake light because the led lights are already part of the fixture). Put everything back and that's about it. Don't forget to test the lights (signal, brake, and reverse) before putting back the cover.

After removing the rectangular cover and still you don't have the confidence in doing it--then do plan B (let the dealer replace it).

Nope, not pink at all. They are red, and the reverse light is smoked/tinted.
 
To anyone....I'm a brand new 2004 4Runner owner....and this is a mod that I want to do. Is this group buy still good?

Not sure if group buy is on still or not.

But I recently ordered a set from partznet via their website and I paid $300 shipped.
 
Just ordered it today! With the 10% off, my grand total with shipping is $288 ($18 shipping)

I ordered them on the 4th and they shipped on the 8th from Partznet for $288 just like ptung. BTW, they used Fedex Home Delivery for my tails...
