After reviewing all of the options for lift kits, I am thinking of ordering a set of custom springs for my 1997 4Runner. Would anyone else be interested in a set of springs similar to the old H&Rs? I'm currently considering the following specs:
- 10 percent heavier capacity
- Progressive springs
- 1.5 inches up front and 2 inches on back
My goal is to get a spring that lifts similar to the OME setup, but rides smoother and isn't as tall as the LC/Tundra coils. I'm expecting to get pricing back from a few spring shops, but wanted to run it by everyone here first. Let me know if you'd interested.
Updating with specifics:
- The springs will be made by www.SpringWorks.com
- I'm working on pricing. If you buy springs in individual sets from them, they tend to be very expensive. They are going to quote me prices for a group order of 10 and 20 sets. If the pricing isn't under $425, I won't try to get it going.
- Once the springs are ordered, it will take two weeks for springworks.com to ship them.
- I ordered a set of springs already and will take photos of the install process once I receive them. I ran their springs on my 2004 WRX and 2003 4Runner and loved what they built. I'm a big fan of the OME products, but feel that progressive springs are much better for a daily driver.
