Group Buy on 4th Gen Rear Bumper

Just talked to Jason over at Perkins Performance he will be starting on a re-design of his 4th gen bumper with dual swing tire carrier & tank carrier.

He has watched this thread and knows what we are looking for in a rear bumper.

He has just completed the group buy orders on the 4th gen front bumpers within a month as his promised 4-6 week time guarantee. :bigok:

He wants to offer a group buy on the rear bumper and wants to gather a list of interested people, the more people we get the bumper prices gets better.

He is estimated the price will be around $1000-2000 but again the more interested the price will be able to go down.

Also he is targeting a 4-6 week time as the front bumpers.

Please post up your name and year of your 4Runner if you want in on this group buy.

Once Jason finishes the re-design later this month or early Feb, he will know more in detail how much the price will be and what the group buy offer will be also.

Sounds like what? If you meant vaporware as in pessimistic or uncertainty of release then your wrong

I know for certain that the new rear 4th gen bumper will be released and group buy offered later Jan to early Feb.

Really they just made and produced a front bumper in no time, faster then most companies. What makes you think they wont be able to make a rear bumper?

The current market price for a rear bumper with swing out split tire carrier, fuel & water carrier, hi-lift mount and powder coating starts at $2300 so this is a serious group buy to watch.

I got a bunch of pm's asking for a more detailed price so this is what I would estimate the group buy to be around $1800-$2000.

Oh yeah to answer someones question from a pm, yes Jason at Perkins Performance has already made a bumper for the 4th gen but is re-designing it to fit more request in design from the guys at toyota120.com.

And another person asked if the bumper requires any cutting of the frame, no it bolts on to existing components on the Runner.

Hopefully he makes it more pleasing to the eye. That rear bumper is damn right ugly the way it sticks out so far from the vehicle. It does look well made but it's not something I would stick on my vehicle just due to the looks. To each their own I guess, function over style.

I absolutely love the low profile and the radius bend that profiles the roofline. Plus, it uses the OEM mounting locations and has a sunroof access gate. In my opinion, that rack is one of the premier 4th Gen. aftermarket offerings and a beautifully designed product. I think the only thing that I would want differently is a light bar for the front that looks something like this...
