Wasn't really sure where to post this but I figured this was the best spot. I make and sell custom retrofit headlights. The name of my company is GTC Retrofits and the majority of my retrofits are for 4runners/Tacomas and for jeeps. Pricing for 3rd gen 4runners start at $435 and add ons are extra. I usually use the morimoto mini h1 projectors, but I have used other projectors upon customer request

do you do any shield or lens tuning if you had a rx projector, rx350 , tl, s2000. stuff like that to take advantage of the oem setup. it be nice to have a custom cutoff shield.

I've never really used or modified oem projectors other than on the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee. I usually just instal them to vehicles who don't have them from factory. But as for the h1 projectors, installation doesn't require glue (for 4runners, Tacomas, and most toyotas). I use adapters and rubber washers for the projectors to fit the factory light size. The projectors are "permanent" but can be removed or swapped out.

Here is a closeup of a 3rd gen 4Runner pair with mini turbine shrouds. The front halo is a 70mm switchback and the rear halo is a 100mm color changing that is bluetooth and are controlled through an app on your phone.

so basically your just doing the nut and bolt method with the h4 adapter plates that come with the projectors itself, i see this is good for people who just dont have the time to do the retro and you do it for them. still a good price if you compare yourself to the big guy like lightwerkz. good hussle tho, i was thinking about doing this too, just dont have the time or space for this type of work. this still beat dropping in the plug and play hid kits.

Yes I do use the adapter plates that comes with the projectors for most h4 applications and that's what they're meant for. No reason to be adding glue and jeopardizing the appearance of the build (glue runs, can fail, and yellows after time). A large majority of retrofitters use the adapters when they can since its the easiest and cleanest method.

I do a majority of my Retrofits for show trucks and rigs that don't normally see off-road settings so aesthetics is important as well as function. But I've still done a handful on off road rigs that get beat and abused pretty well and my lights hold up great and don't leak.

For other vehicles like jeeps where I have to trim out a majority of the back of the housing to get the projector to fit, I use molding epoxy and my own mold to seal the back of the housing back up once the projector is in.

still good work tho, ill keep that in mind if i need something done. craving another retrofitted lights on my truck with tuned and custom shield for myself.
