This is likely normal. I have the same "hissing-then-click" sound at times when i brake. It is due to the ABS system pumping itself. It is perfectly normal.

I have the exact same thing, they told me it was the hydrolic for something or other filling up again... weird... well so long as someone else has it!

IM trying to get use to all these yota noises.... brake, engine... rocks hitting my windsheild

One More Thing

I have noticed that the noise has started occuring when I first start the truck up. I also realized that when I first got my truck it never made this nosie. Now with 15K on it I hear it every time I drive. WTF?

The stealership said the nosie was the pump on the resivor for the brake fluid. It's still making that noise. I have had no problems but it is an annoyance. If they tell you something diffrent let us know.

Nope. It was free. They even rode with me to hear the noise.

if the system is similar to the later 3rd gens, then i think it is normal,.......kinda like a hiss then a pop......usually happens when first started up and every so often when coming to a stop...mine's done it since day one....heard some lexus' do it too although not as loud..

I'm getting the same kind of noises as well. I figured it was the ABS system... I'm going to keep an eye on it and have it looked at next time I see the dealer. I'm also feeling this in the break pedal...you feeling it to?
