Guess what's back on ebay!

It would be great if you would let us know how the bull bar is when you get it.

Particularly if it was a genuine strona bar and how is the fit and install of the bar.

I have installed generic ebay garbage before and it is just that ... garbage.

Thanks!!

Based on the pictures and the seller, intrigued, I can attest it's a legit Strona bullbar. Looks identical to the one I got through the groupbuy about a year and half ago.

intrigued is a great seller to deal with. I had a great experience with them. Only problem was mine didn't ship with the installation instructions. There's a JPG of it here in the forum. It's a snap to install, 30-45 minutes. It can be installed by one person, but two makes it a lot easier.

Does anyone have a picture of the bar mounted? Looks pretty nice, but a picture of one on a rig would be even sweeter. Thanks

Yes it would be nice to see a picture of this one mounted on a 4th Gen.

Just curious, does anyone know if this install will reduce the approach angle?

if you do a search for strona bull bar you'll find a lot of pictures members have posted. esp the "strona bull bar group buy" thread.

and yes it will probably reduce your approach angle.

i just got the bar in the mail and opened it up... the quality looks fantastic and it was shipped in a huge box so it was well protected. I won't have time to put it on until wed so i'll try to post pics by the end of the week... also needs a good wash so it will be nice and shiny!

Besides posting pictures, please let us know how the install went. Read some of the past posts which indicated some modification was needed to make the bar fit.

Looks great. My 4runner is black so your picture gives me a good idea how it would look on my rig.

I think it was the description on ebay which said you have to remove the tow hooks for the install. When I looked under my rig, the tow hooks are welded to the frame. Not knowing the differences between an 06 and an 04, are your tow hooks removable? Or was that not really the case? Thanks in advance.

where does it say on the auction that you have to remove the tow hooks? tow hooks are not removable. only thing i had to remove were plastic clips that held down rubber flaps in the area where the supports get attached. there were a few people with 06+ that had the bar installed with no issues.

Guess I was thinking about some other bull bar, sorry. With that said, I am off to buy the last one the seller has. Thanks for all the info!

there was a group buy on this bar a Long time ago which sold for really cheap. T&h used to make this design but not anymore because the lic plate was blocked. Since it was discontinued its been in demand.

Mine is arriving on Thursday - can't wait!! I actually called Dean up and placed the order over the phone - their 800 # was listed in one of the threads on here. Very nice guy! My strona is $160 shipped from PA to AZ, which is slightly cheaper than I would've had to pay for the one on eBay. I don't know whether the ebay seller is them - they're both in PA though.

Have other members experienced installation problems?? I'd think these should be straightforward "screw on".

BTW, I'm a new member - in fact, a new owner of 4Runner or Toyota, for that matter. I've always had Nissans and BMW's. I sold my '05 Frontier Crew Cab and got an '06 black Sport V8 4WD with barely 16k miles on it @$24,500 from a private seller - not a bad deal compared to what I could've gotten from any dealer with that amount of money. I really prefer Titanium Silver or the Gray color, but I suppose I couldn't be too picky since I wasn't buying a brand new vehicle from a dealer. I really liked the Frontier - drove well, very powerful and sweet 6spd. I hate to have to part ways with it but I just added another working dog and with the Frontier, I would not be able to put one 36" crate in the cab, let alone 2! I had the back of the cab completely set up for my black shepherd and my pet dog could ride in it with him fine. I used to lug the crate around in the back and put him up in it in the shade when we got to our training facilities. But I just added a malinois puppy and she's going to be a working dog also. I can't let them ride together in the cab. I could put two crates in the truck bed and haul them around, but summer is coming and they'd be fried to death in Arizona's brutal heat. So I had to shop for a SUV.

I've always liked the 4Runner's and wished Toyota would put standard transmission back into the 4Runner's, but I know that would be day-dreaming. That would simply be not for the US or North American market. And that was the only thing that was holding me back because I HATE automatic. Why why why would Americans want to put an automatic in a TRUCK or a SPORTS CAR???!!!!! javascript:smilie(':bash:')
bash It's just beyond me. But I've come to like the Runner's so much that I finally bent my own rule and started shopping for a 4Runner!! It was kind of like how I got my female malinois puppy..lol.. She's out of Ot Vitosha and both parents are fantastic working dogs (the dad will likely go to the World's). I had never wanted to get a female and was only looking at the male pups in the litter (she's the only female pup). I went to see and play with them 3 times at 3, 5 and 7 weeks. An hour each time for the first two times. Every time she just kept standing out in the crowd! By the 3rd time I went to pick out a boy to bring home at 7th week, it was an "agonizing" 2.5 hours! I probably should've asked Rodd to put her up so I could only focus on picking out a boy. But she just kept standing out and excelled in everything I tested - literally beat her brothers hands down! Finally, after 2.5 hours, she made me make an 180!! Now I'd spent lots of time finally narrowing down boy names to a couple that I really liked, they became useless and I had to start all over again..lol.. and I finally named her after I'd had her for more than a week! She's 10 weeks now and is such a fantastic puppy and a pleasure to have. javascript:smilie(':p')
stick out tongue I have very high hope for her! The addition of her in my family was the reason I went and got a 4Runner..... And so far, I'm LOVING my Runner !! (except for the gas mileage part) javascript:smilie(':D')
