Gum compound on fresh washed 4runner!?!

I just washed my car yesterday, took forever... Today on the driver side after coming back from the airport, some child or a**hole but somekind of long streak of some gum or thin glue like compound on the door, kind of like spider web that falls on something...
what do you guys recommend to clean this?
I touched some of it, its like when you try to take gum off, its hell...

Goo Gone or Goo Off. You can find it at Home Depot or Lowes. That stuff does wonders. Took off the old adhesive when I debadged my 4runner.

Make sure you wash and wax the section of the car you use it on

just be very careful while using Goo Gone, I used it on my first vehicle to get off some glue....it was a black vehicle and it was also brand new, and it took the paint off

How about soap and water? Always worked for me.

Just use automotive liquid wax or cleaner wax. It will remove most anything. Just rub very gently to minimize the surface scratching.

If you don't have any goof off, or similar solvent try a little good 'ol WD-40 to take it off... then of course you'll need to wash off the WD40, but it works well for sticky stuff... especially road tar.

Straight dishwashing detergent. Dawn or similar degreasing detergent. It will remove the wax too, but should be able to disolve the gum.

I would go with standard bug and tar remover as a second resort. It won't damage the paint. Rinse very well with clean water and wax the area after it's clean though.

Might sound wierd but some folks swear by peanut butter to remove gum and other such things.

Use a microfiber towel and smooth peanut butter and let us know how it works.

Zaino Clay bar works wonders!! I have used this to remove gum, fresh tar, road paint splatters, and embedded bugs without harming the paint. Parking during construction in Boston is a real pain...

Be sure to use it on a wet, soapy area to get the best effect (i.e. follow the directions on the package).
