Whatever you choose, make sure to practice a lot with it. It is amazing how long it can take to draw your weapon or reload, under stress. Practice makes perfect. I don't know your shooting experience, but I try to shoot 2x per week.

Some of the best advice right there. I tell anyone planning to purchase a firearm for home defense. You need to practice so that it becomes second nature and you can operate it efficiently when half asleep. Same goes for CCW use and stress situations.

I don't have (or need) a CCW, but if I did, I'd go with the S&W M&P 9mm or the Springfield XD 9mm. I like both of them, but I'm a little more partial to the M&P. I just like the idea of a 9 for a concealed carry. Still strong enough to put someone down, but they're generally smaller, hold more ammo, have less kick and cheaper to shoot than a .45.

The Glock SC 9mm (model 26) and 40cal SC (model 27) are the exact size and weight (which is smaller and lighter then both M&P and XDm). I will be getting a drop-in 9mm barrel for the 27 to shoot cheaper. I think the 40 and 45 cal both have enough stopping power but i think the 40 is a little better for longer distance.

I've been shooting for many years and I will be putting 500 rds through the new gun the first day I get it.

I just got back from the range. Did all this with a Beretta at 30ft. Missed 2 shots because of premature trigger pull. This was 185 rounds. The indoor range has a dark back drop, so I lose the sights, so I just keep shooting at the edges of the hole.

I wish I could shoot 200 rounds everyday, damn it I LOVE it!!

How the hell do I size down the picture? Do I have to do it with an editor before I upload it?
