I'm gonna have to hit up the junkyard again. last time they had 7 this time 5. most were autos. didn't even think to check for for diffs and manual hubs.

As a comparison I'll say my 91 3.0 5spd 4.56 and 32's is fairly decent in pickup and power. The motor has been rebuilt and I don't know if anything beyond fix the head was done however. I was expecting less performance based on comments before I bought it. If the OP has this same engine tranny setup I'd say something is very wrong.
UPDATE: Nevada was right. My transmission is not shifting into first all of the time, even when I manually put it in "first". So basically I am starting off in second gear, that definitely makes it seem weak.
It already has a problem where when I put it in drive, it does not start in first, it goes into 3rd. Could this be from the "shift lock override" malfunctioning? Or is my transmission just going downhill?

It could be. A couple years ago my transmission wouldn't come down out of overdrive unless I manually shifted it, that turned out to be the connection on the TPS. So that's worth checking too...

Put the shift selector in 1st(low) gear, not the t case but the auto tranny and manually shift it, see if drives any better.
When I first bought mine it waould run like a go kart, slow and as I built up speed it would act normal. It turned out to be shift solenoids in the tranny. It wouldn't drop down to 1st gear but would stay in second or even 3rd gear from a dead stop. Took alot to get it moving again. Manually shifting will eliminate this problem

OK, after reading the whole thread this time: Do you have any dash lights on, like the brake light flashing or the O/D light? Those were both indicators for my problem.
