Guys With Valor Tip ?

Put tip on last night but did not have torque wrench. How tight did you guys tighten when putting on. Directions state 10 lbs on torque wrench but I just tightened real tight with socket by hand as much as I could. Is this what everyone else has done??

You don't need to torque the bolt/nut, just make sure it is tight. What you need to do is make sure the drain hole at the end of the tip is facing down, before tightening.

I have to check when I get outside but I do not remember seeing a drain hole. Do you mean at the end away from the muffler??

Yeah I didn't use a torge wrench either. Just tightened it pretty good, but not too tight. I know people that just tighten the shit out of stuff and warp, crack, or at the very least make sure it is impossible to come of without breaking something. I also put one on my mother's GX. She liked my "pimp tip" and had to get one.

I actually do have a torque wrench but I couldn't I didn't have an extension to fit the little socket the bolt needed. So I just said screw it and used a regular socket wrench because I was too lazy and cheap for something that doesn't really need a torque wrench anyway. Just get 'er snug enough to stay tight, but not tight enough to bend and crush anything.

When you read things that specify torques that are really low like this, don't even waste your time with the torque wrench. Just do it hand tight to keep it from falling off. It's not an internal engine part, suspension part, or wheel lug nut, so the specific torque is not as important. Vehicle manufacturers just list torque specs on just about everything because it's what they do. It's nothing to worry about.

Thanks guys for all the remarks. I hand tightened with socket and everything seems great. By the way I did see the little pin hole in the bottom of the tip. It is at the bottom so I am cool. Thanks again everyone!!

Thanks for pointing that out. After I read that, I checked my truck, and it turned out I had installed mine upside down... with the hole in the top. It's fixed now!
