Yes and no, because it depends on what you want to do...If you watch the 2nd video that HellRaruz posted you will notice that there are some areas where you can either stay on the "main" trail or take the more difficult route off to the side.

Taskers Gap does dead end into ATV trails but there is a turnaround at the end of the trail to come back down.

Speaking of planning...

Originally I was going to camp out and spend the night, but unfortunately I had something come up on Sunday morning so I going to have to make it a day trip. If anyone wants to camp for the night, there are plenty of great locations that we can point out.

Also, keeping in mind that the trails are about 2 hours outside the DC area, is everyone okay with meeting around 11? I am thinking that it will be best if we meet between 11 and noon so we can have enough time to hit the trails we want to, take a break for lunch, and head out before it gets too dark. Let me know what you think.

Looks like the BP station on route 11 in Edinburg would be a good place to meet. They sell day passes too. @ ar1five - I would caravan, but may have errands to run along the way.

As promised, here are all the details that you should need:

WHERE
We are going to meet at the Shell Station (Bo's Xpress) in Edinburg because it is close to the trails and they sell the required permit. The address is: 60 Stoney Creek Road, Edinburg, VA 22824.

WHEN
Lets plan on meeting at 11:00 AM and try to hit the trails by no later than noon. That way if anyone is caught in traffic or running late they won't be left behind.

WHO
I would like to try to get a final count by the end of this weekend so we know who to expect and don't leave anyone behind. Please let me know if you're coming and I will add your name to the list. Here is the list of people who are confirmed:

PERMIT
There is a required permit to use the trails. If I remember correctly I think it costs $10 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) and is good for the day. The permits are sold at the gas station that we will be meeting at so you don't need to worry about it in advance.

Well I think I blew a head gasket, does anyone know if its doable by someone who is dazed and confuzed like me. Its a 3.0 and looks like a ****ed up job. I think I am going to try and fix it this weekend so I can still make the trip. I got the gasket kit to do the job, just not to sure if I am up to the task. I miss the days of the small block chevy!!

Toyota acutally had recalled those engines a while back. They had many problems with the head gaskets blowing. Some of the blocks were actually pitting causing the problem to happen over and over. You may want to check with your local dealer to see if you the block has been replaced. Or if you would like PM me with your VIN and i can check it for you

I would love to make this run... but its a 3 hour drive... I really want to go, but just dont know.

Yeah its starting to get pretty intense so we are just going to have to wait it out...

That's a really good idea. I will have my axe, but that can only go so far.
