GX460 RCI skids on 4Runner.

Any reason 460 skids won’t work on a 4Runner? Specifically RCI skids. I believe the only thing is the oil filter access won’t line up anymore but that’s a non issue to me. There is a video of a guy installing rsg 4Runner skids on his gx and it seems all the mounting holes and bracketed is there. Any input?

Looks like the kdss 4Runner skid is similar shape to the gx unit. So I’m assuming there’s just a difference in skid shape and oil filter port. Trans skids appear identical.

Ok well I took the jump because I was pretty sure they would work. Well… I was half right.

The engine skid bolted right up no issues.

The trans skid however… about 4” too long. I ended up chopping the front part off and drilled new holes and it worked out fine. Cutting through the 3/16 steel was not that fun though….

Also traded my Trd exhaust to a guy that had a c4 transfer case skid. I would’ve preferred the RCI unit as I think the crossmember the provide is more stout and the skid extends more rearward. This was a good trade for me though and it’s still a great quality product.

RCI’s transmission and transfer case skid mount bolt together in the following order -> transmission skid, transfer case skid, RCI U spacer, stock support tubes, frame.

If you are using the C4 transfer case with the RCI transmission skid then it should be -> transmission skid, RCI U spacer, stock support tubes, transfer skid, frame.

And the oil filter access port lines up perfectly as well as the engine and trans drain holes! No issues there[emoji1688]
