I recently replaced the Michelin CrossTerrains on our MDX with Goodyear Fortera TripleTreds. I was able to get the GYs for $50 less per tire than the CrossTerrains and during the initial 1,000 miles I have been impressed. In addition to less $ than the Michelins they are also severe weather rated. Think what you want about the rating, but in Oregon it means I don't have to chain up going over our passes. We have a second home in Bend and I ski so this was very important to us. The CrossTerrains lasted 60,000 miles and worked great but I wanted to try something different. I'll post an update once I have a chance to see how they do in the snow.
Here's an overview of the Tire.
I think this is a good tire to consider vs. the Michelin CTs for someone who's primary need is an on-road tire.
Tires are very subjective so as always YMMV.
