H2 vs Competition Video

a little bias are we?

OMG that video was just ridiculously stupid, ive seen those vehicle handle those situations alot better that the drivers were allowing. and the fjording of the river that was just retarded! the trucks just pulled in and backed out. i know for a fact that discovery wouldn't have a problem with it... hummers suck.
its just gm owners trying to prove to fellow owners that there not just really wide suburbans afterall...

i also wouldn't be suprised if the "comp" was all 2wd or in 4wd hi

and hey where was the 4runner and rubicon? too scared for some real competion?

yeah, that had to be the case. the one where the G-wagon got high centered and started spinning was crap. those come from the with all 3 diffs lockable. it would never have stopped there with a wheel spinning.

the only thing that video shows is that the stock h2 is very high and has good approach/departure angles.

FUnny video
now lets look at reality:
Fording H2 is 20" the stock 4R is 27.5" as rated by both manufacturers. SO I dont know where they got that BS.
Clearance H2 is 9.7" 4R 9.1" or so
Funny they dont have a real breakover bump.

That's about all I saw as well--the steep incline after the steep descent, the "fording" and a few other places.

The thing that made me scoff the most was the sandy hill...most of the other vehicles had low profile tires, and I usually only saw one tire spinning. Did GM have too hard a time finding out where the button for the locker and 4Lo was on these vehicles?:p

That video was more bs than the presidential debates. The G-Wagon can take the H2 anyday offroad. The H2 doesn't have 3 lockers. I wonder what Thai would have to say about that video!!:p

i am still in a state of shock from watching the BS video!:D Oh well, if that makes them feel better, then more power to them. I would love to take an H2 on over any terrain.

The only vehicle that they left out was the Unimog...with all the BS, they should have included that in too!:p

I actually have an idea!

Why dont we get a soccer mom with her H2 and Good Times with his 4th Gen (Bruce with his 3rd) and then go do some wheeling over rocks and in mud, sand, etc. Then we can post that video.

90% of a vechile's capability lies in the driver. It is strange that I have not found anywhere in the real world that H2 are used for tuff stuff on a daily basis and safaris. It is strange that the favorite vechiles in this category still remains Land Rovers, Land Cruisers and some Gs. This is where in situatons where the vechiles fails you life could depend on it. I excluded unimogs and humvees as they still fall in trcuk, speciality vechile category to me.

pretty stacked if you ask me.

The H2 has better approach/departure/breakover angles. Would that happen to be from 315 BFG? WOuld changing over from street biased tires on the LX470, G500 and LandRover to the same BFG AT change the quotient a bit?

Why wouldn't ther other vehicles slowly go into the fording tank? It did not seem like they were going to get hydraulic'ed yet....but the drivers pulled back so that they would get paid afterwards from GM?

Where are the H2s in Paris to Dakar? Guess who wins those races? Where are the H2 in real life boondock use? G55 was Germany's command jeep for 30 years. Proven performer the world over. Where is H2 on safaris? Dont they all use Range Rovers and Land Cruisers/LX 470 when it really counts? How about competing in the Camel Discovery expeditions? Care to see if GM products can go against them?

We see lots of H2s up here. The name for them is "Posseur"

yeah Toyotas can't ford water, I'm running 32" tires so compare how deep I'm in to the water level on the hummers 35" tires. BTW the mud on front is from going inot the mud hole.

Funny guys, I spend a lot of time today to clean her again. After Pismo last week and Hollister yesterday she was pretty dirty.

I can imagine...I looked through the pics that were posted...looked like a lot of fun mud! Makes me want to just ditch my street tires that came on my 4r for something more aggressive!
