I didn't want to do it but I needed something BIGGER.
My T4R just couldn't do the job. It didn't have enough guts. I needed more.
I went backwards to an '04 but the "new" (to me) rig has what it takes.
On the plus side: Powerful road presence (you can't miss it!) Lots of Hp and low end torque. HD disc brakes all around and ABS. Large tire and wheel package (good ground clearance.) Excellent ride height, higher payload, DRLs, steps, mud flaps round it out.
All the modern driver conveniences. A/C, Cruise, Tach, Gauge package, intermittent wipers, lots of power outlets, extra in cab storage compartments (even under the seats.)
On the down side: Not 4x4. Lousy sound system. Noisy ride. Nice wheelbase but it rides rough. Larger fuel tank (50 gal.) but only a 350 mi. range (this thing is a thristy pig: 7 mpg.) No speed demon either, governed at 104 Km/h (65 mph.)
Worst of all it's not a Toy, not even a Hino.
ps. Luckily the T4R doesn't drive like a truck.
