Fortunately, I drove the 4R to work today and they are building this construction site next door with a huge plot and rough dirt roads. So I took it there and tried it again. It went into 4 Lo and stayed there. Gear changes were super-quick as well. I turned on the rear diff lock and it lit up and stayed on, though that action was harder to discern. I assume it works too.

Thats the CDL, you can use 4lo anywhere you want.
Sorry, I meant Center Diff Lock. Good to know I can use the 4Lo anywhere, though I suspect it is primarily useful in offroad conditions. These import V8s are really nice. It really makes my Suburban (in great condition, I might add) feel like an old and tired jalopy.

True. Just saying it's a good looking truck.
I love mine. I switched out the shocks, struts, and springs to those TRD ones from the FJ. Today I had a 85 lb hitch rack and a 300 lb dirt bike back there and it drove like there wasn't much back there. I would like to put a front and rear bumper on...getting ready to get into dirt biking and the 4R will be PERFECT.:cowboy:
