I hope everyone and their family is safe out there.

Does anyone have family out in Haiti? I don't personally but If you do, I hope they are safe and sound...

I wish the best to the emergency personnel and the military forces.

I know is going to be hard to come back after what our world been through the last 12 months.. :sobbing:

Some of the news footage coming out from there is amazing and horrifying at the same time. Hell on earth.

So far the international response has been very fast and impressive. Even places like China and Iceland have already got USAR teams working on the ground.

Hell on earth.

TRUE! It brought tears to my eyes last night as the C130 was taxiing out empty... It was a U.S. C130 and everybody still hates us. The most aid will be from us, as always (which is a good thing!). The loss of life is tragic. The real tragedy is the pain & suffering that will last for even years to come...

The corruption also makes me sick. We've given them so much money and nothing was spent on emergency preparedness? I know the scope and scale is huge but come on... (I know we had trouble responding to New Orleans for the same reasons I guess:confused: ) After we are done in 2,3 or 5 years it'll still be a crap hole.

We are SO LUCKY! To everyone who works with relief agencies, the military, etc. Thank-you:bigok:

IMHO, i don't mind if we (U.S.) go over there to do some Search & Rescue operations. But giving money & food??????? Our economy still sucks, i just wonder where the money and food comes from?

Quite a tragedy. Mother earth reminds us of her existence and devastating powers...

My thoughts are with the people of Haiti and also my buddies in the SAR team who are workin' hard in extremely hard conditions to help others. =/
They've even been under serious attacks from locals (total chaos) and had to defend their camp. Not all too good...

Up here in the north the Red Cross (amongst others) are collecting funds to send supplies to Haiti. I believe the Red Cross world wide is collecting funds to aid Haiti.
I at least could see off a few thousand kronas from my bank account to their aid...

A video I bumped into on Youtube from AP... SARs Team at work, if anyone interested...

Mike, that is an good question.. Where is the $100 Million Dollars coming from?

Is seriously going to be hard to recover Haiti to its prior status..

How much will it take the rebuild it and who will stand behind it?

Friend of mine in the USMC are going over there too..

Some of my buddies from the local S&R team are heading over there as well..

Is such an tradjecty to see it happening, and are they going to be like Katrina? Is been almost 5 years and it still looks the same..

Well, let us not forget that Haiti has been in a very bad situation for many years. Note that more than 80% of population in Haiti are under "poor" standard (what ever the correct English word for that is!)

And sure as hell it ain't gonna get better now. =/

Well, look like it was hit again yesterday with an 6.1 after shock..

Is going to take a while to rebuild it.
