Hampton, NH driver slow the F#$% down

Teenager driving an older 4Runner, red with a Thule roof-top box came very close to a head-on collision with my family in my minivan.

You turned off of Route 1 at such a high rate of speed that you were up on 2 wheels and headed straight for me.

I hope that you get a clue. We are were all lucky that incident didn't end in tragedy.

You think that's crazy? Try driving in the SF bay area when it rains hard. Take your pick - I280 or I80 (or any freeway ending in 0 or 1). We have tons of dumb@sses and morons here who speed up when it's wet.

Edit: None of them crazies drive 4runners though.

Glad to hear you're ok and evaded harm. Probably a young driver who is unfamiliar with the handling limits of his/her machine.

I think that is what is was too - just hope he happens to read this and realizes he needs to calm his driving down.

I used to live in SF - didn't have to drive to commute, though. I did see a lot of bad weather driving headed up to the Mtns.

I had a guy pass me on 80 yesterday like I was standing still, and I was going about 75 mph. He had to of been going around 120..no kidding! Idiots!

You think that's bad, when I go up to Mammoth through the Mojave, I drive about 90 because there's no one around usually. I have had tiny sports cars pass me so fast that the wind force from them shakes my truck. I can't even imagine how fast you have to be going to do that to a truck going 90mph.

I wish that I still had my old car and bike for nice high speed cruising. Granted, the 4runner is NOT meant for this.... i barely take mine over 70.
I look forward to having a stable of sick vehicles, for each discipline ;-D
