Hand brake on 1st gen anyone?

Has anyone converted the parking brake to a hand brake on a manual 1st gen? I think this would be really cool and helpful on the hills when using the clutch. Im going to do this, I'll figure it out some how, but it would be nice to see how other people have don it.

Your parking brake uses your rear brakes already if you want power,

I'm talking about putting a hand brake in the center console area so you don't have to quickly jump from the foot brake to the gas and mess with the pull and turn bull$!#%. I was thinking of putting in something like the rally cars use where it doesn't have a thumb button release so you can quickly release it without messing with a release. and then maybe put in some kind of latch for when you want to use it for parking. or just a regular center console parking/E brake deal with the thumb button.
