hankook mt

So ive been doing a lot of researching and iam stuck on the hankook tire. I went through a lot of post and nobody has ran them. Ive heard the at is good but has anyone used the mt? any input?

I have never ran them. However I have talked to a few folks that have and everyone liked them. In some sizes the hankooks have a thicker/stronger sidewall than the bfg mt.

ok so i dont have a set either but have seen a few guys on here run them and have heard good things about them... a friend of mine works at Discount Tires and told me they are a great tire and would recommend i look at a set when i need new tires!

Hankooks are made in Korea, if you feel the quality is there then try them. I stick with proven BFG all terrains

I ran the Hankooks on my 80 series Land cruiser....I liked them. Fairly quiet, pretty good in the rain. I didn't get them offroad very much b/c I have my FJ40. I'm thinking about buying them for my 4runner when the Terra Grapplers need replaced.

I have 2 friends that run the Hankook M/Ts on their Jeeps. Bot told me they will not be getting them again. One of them ran Maxxis Bighorns (like I have) before the Hankooks and said the Bighorns did much better in the snow and about the same in mud - mainly because the Hankooks have no siping and that makes a big difference in snow/ice. The other friend had Cooper STTs before his Hankooks and said they blew the Kooks away in the snow (which I believe since I saw him struggling to get up our access road several times last winter with the Kooks, but he never had problems in the previous years with the Coopers).

If you're looking for a real snow tire, the only choices you have IMO are Goodyear Duratracs or Dunlop Maxx Traction M/Ts. I had the Dunlops most of last winter and they were the next best thing to having chains on. The tread pattern and irregular cuts on the lugs make it hard to slip sideways. I even I pulled the ebrake and tried to make it slide out and it would hardly move. Both of these tires have the severe winter service rating (with the mtn. and snowflake symbol).

thanks well ill be going up to the snow 4 or 5 times this year so just want to see how they would do if it comes down to it ill just take my parents tahoe for the snow. These tires will see mud and street mostly.
