Happy Holidays from the road....

I was just curious how many of you guys/gals were on the road for the Holidays and still checking in with Toyota-4Runner.org? Post where all you are traveling.

We left Birmingham, AL Monday afternoon for West Point, MS (wife's parents). We will be leaving here Christmas morning to head to Jackson, MS to have Christmas with my family. My brother will be coming in with his pack of 5 from Houston TX the same day. Then we will be heading back to Birmingham on Saturday to hopefully avoid the majority of the holiday traffic.

Good question - went nine and a 1/2 hours on sat. and have been learking out up here in south VA.

Average MPG 19ish, ran at an average of 72 for the entire run - crused in the high 70's never over 80. Started the morning with a view of the sur rise over the Atlantic and ended with a sun set in the mountians of SE VA (after they recieved 7 in. of snow that moring).

It's 76 back home should be 12 tonight.

Good question, I went on a small trip today, but I am back home for the Holidays. Some of the moderators are out of touch, but I will be here. I'll be a little busy tommorrow morning though.:bouncy:

Well, if it makes you feel any better, i was working all day yesterday and today while I am suposed to be on vacation....oh well, just the breaks when you run your own company.

Wanted to, but without broadband access and limited telephone access, then it just wasn't worth it.

Actually, it was good to completely unplug for a few days.....we'll be back in full swing all too soon anyway.

BTW, the trip covered 1,471 miles on the 4Runner, going to the Texas/Mexico border between Laredo and Del Rio. Measured mileage up to 22.4 mpg on one tank, and the truck was excellent for a 13-hour drive one way.

Had to watch the speed, though -- lots of Texas and Arkansas state troopers watching everyone very closely. It was easier to set the cruise control at the speed limit and just leave it there -- everyone else can get the tickets.
