Why did they call the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday?

because all the retailers make profit, thus lots of black ink = black friday. it was originally dubbed black friday in philly because of the mayhem. eventually it was renamed based off the above. history for the day!

That was actually started in 2005 it's supposed to be black Friday for online thus 'cyber' Monday.
