Happy to join the T4R community! Spark plug question inside.

Just bought a 1996 T4R with 132k miles, after lusting for one since I was 15. It's that awesome stellar blue pearl color you all love =D. I did the spark plugs/wires/boots a week ago and I have a ticking noise coming from one of the drivers side cylinders(only when it's warmed up).

One thing I know I did wrong: I didn't know there were different lengths of spark plug wires so I end up having one wire that is a little tight and one with mucho slack. A mechanic friend said this is no big deal, but what do you all think?

It's not ideal but as long as the wire is connected and not going to fall off i can't see the beyond premature wear on the wire. Personally I'd fix it. But that's just me.

I got mine in Brazil (I also have a green one here in the US):

The NGK TE-66 are $30 and will last a good 100k. I'd do it right, but that's me.

keep in mind there is some kind of vacuum thing that ticks on the driver side (mine is much louder in cold weather, but you can hear it in summer as well). So the ticking may not be coming from your cylinders.

I have the same ticking coming from mine and if you open the hood and listen it comes from right around the EVAP.

and as far as spark plugs wire i would say that you want them to have "slack" in them. think heat, tension, "rubber" dont really mix very well honestly.

run them for now but next time you change them just make sure you get ones that will fit perfectly lol NGK wires seem to be the desired ones here.
