hard line needed when doing tundra brakes

I noticed in one of the write-ups that they replaced the metal hard line when they installed the tundra calipers. Anyone know if this part is really required for the brake upgrade? I'm installing SS braided lines anyhow but I didn't order the hard lines.

I will be doing my Tundra install tomorrow. I was not under the impression that the hard lines needed to be replaced. One guy I recall reading about did replace his because he destroyed the end nuts trying to remove them.

The only modification I had to do when I upgraded to a 231mm was trimming the dust shields to accommodate the Tundra calipers. no hard lines were changed. Atleast in my experience.

Did my 199mm upgrade today (oh WOW that is SOOO much better!!!), and the hard lines fit just fine. No trimming of the dust shield was needed either.

I will note that the flare nuts were kind of a pain to get the threads to start on the reman'd calipers, but once I had about 2 threads started by hand, they went on fine the rest of the way with a wrench.
