Hardwiring Radar Detector

Can anyone tell me the exact location one would use when hardwiring their radar detector?

I believe you can either hard wire it to the starter or fuse panel w/in the ACC port, is this correcT?\

Which is better or easier, I am assuming fuse panel?

Sweet, thanks for the feedback.

I am almost positive that I will just T-tap into the 15amp accessory fuse in the panel.

you can also t tap the cigerette lighter....that is usually where i would do it. also did you get the kit for the hardwire? You cannot just cut the end off the cig lighter adapter and wire it you will fry your radar detector!! just a heads up

Good point, I thought about that as well.

However, I want to mount it at the top of my windshield behind my tint strip and it would be easier to run the wires across my leadliner and down to my fuse box, as opposed to the cig lighter.

True true. just make sure you use the hardwire kit or get another cig lighter plug and just wire that and plug the two up together
