harmonic balancer went out... AC doesnt ...work?

I know they shouldnt be related.
but I replaced the balancer / and now my compressor doesnt click on..
coincidently lost r12 and it switched the low pressure safety?
i have no idea.. the green ac light works.. compressor wont turn on.

any ideas?

Is the compressor locked up. Try spinning the clutch at the end. If that locked up then you prob lost the freon when that happened.

Does the magnetic clutch work? Try running 12V directly to it.

There is a low pressure switch that will not allow the compressor to run if there is not enough freon. It will be a plug that is located on the passenger side that usually goes into a cannister. take the plug of the cannister and jump the wires. that should engage the compressor.
