has any one made the scoop Functional

I know you can just cut out the plastic but that would not help much and then you would make a mess under your hood when it rains I am thinking about cutting mine open and piping it to my intake enclosure. Has anyone tried this or have some good ideas for me?

Hood Scoop

There was one guy on this forum that did make the scoop functional. He put some fine screen mesh in the scoop and ran some kind of hoses to his air filter area.

There's just no proven performance gain period from opening up the scoop and it allows too much road crap into the engine bay making things dirty and a dirty engine runs hotter and less efficient so not really effective.
I'd just leave the scoop alone and give your engine a good pressure wash cleaning a few times a year and I bet you get the same performance gain which is negiligible anyway.

I have the deckplate and sometimes it just feels like an "I did it mod" too but some of us like to tinker alot.
