Has Anyone Added Soundproofing to Front Wheel Wells?

The exposed metal of the front wheel wells under the hood seems a logical place to reduce road & wheel noise by adding some soundproofing material. Has anyone tried it, and if so, did it make a noticeable difference?

I get that the more surfaces are done, the better, and I plan to eventually do the doors, kick panels, and so on, but those wheel wells look like low-hanging fruit, even if it’s just putting on a couple of layers of this.

I think the rear would be a better choice for soundproofing, the front it seems would transmit most of the nosie into the engine bay.

That being said I think the foam stuff you posted would only get waterlogged from being in the fender well, IMHO, maybe a heavy coat of spray bedliner would work.

I did the entire inside of the truck and that made an incredible difference. My BFG mud terrains are barely noticeable when driving at highway speeds. Used a product called thermozite. I believe that the floor and rear tire areas made the most difference. Next would be the doors and last would be the roof. Over that I replaced the carpet with heavy vinyl.
