Has anyone bought their own Haweka plate adapter?

I'm finding that more tire store have no ****ing idea that if you're running OE lug centric wheels that there is adapter needed otherwise you will never get a tire balanced on a OE rim. It looks like the plate and studs run about $300. It seems as if it might be worth it. Anyone ?

I'm having issues getting my tires balanced properly as well, the tire stores I have gone to all have the correct plate/adapters to do the job but the problem here seem to be the techs(if you can call them that) just don't know how to properly balance a tire even if it's not a lug centric wheel, I have many years experience in the automotive mechanical field which I'm retired from now and I watched all of them through the window at each store and see the issue and I have tried to tell them what they're doing wrong but even the managers assure me they know what they're doing and too them I just a customer and novice that thinks I know more than they do, it seems unless I find a store that has a good tech that knows what he's doing the only way I'm going to get my tires balanced correctly is to not only buy the plate but also a wheel balancing machine!!!

Ive gone to the same place in the last 10 years and every time before they moved to a new location and re equipped them selves with new stuff it was perfect b/c they used the attachment. Now its like oh..hold my beer ... we can just force balance and it will be fine. I took a t4st drive after that and had the tech grab the wheel at 65 to feel the vibration. Told the mgr that the attachment was the only way to get the tires balanced. He said the attachment is in a container and theyd try to find it and use it...

I just think that if i had my own attachment.. i could say hey use this....you know?

I get what you’re saying, but before I spent $300 on an attachment for a shop to use, I’d spend some time trying to find a good shop that not only has the correct attachment but can also do the job correctly. If you’re going to buy an expensive attachment like that, you may as well look for a used balancer to go with it and just do the job yourself...

I just go to Costco. They have always been perfect with the balancing for me.

I've used the adapter in past jobs with other brand wheels. Honestly, it's not an end-all-be-all solution to ensuring a wheel balances. I'd look at finding a reputable offroad focused shop that has experience balancing heavy wheels/tires like these.
