Has anyone done a overhead dvd install need help

I have a dvd overhead system and need some help installing the unit. I removed the domelight cover and can see a some sort of mounting plate, possibly for the factory dvd system. Does the headliner need to be cut or can you drill through the headliner to fasten the mounting plate? Any help would be much appreciated.

I installed a Sony unit in my 2005 SR5, see the thread

for pics. The only holes I made were for the 2 screws for the additional supporting plate.

Anyone Please help w/ dvd player

i liked the sony dvd setup from Pipeariano,

i have 05 4R w/ factory nav and RSA and want to do something like that. please tell me if:

1) Can i install the sony dvd player w/ headrest monitor instead of ceiling mount?

2) What wire do i need to hook up the dvd player to the back of my nav unit? and what connector on the back of my nav unit?

Irpete had mentioned on other post the y-adapter #08695-00370, will it work for this application?

any input will be greatly appreciated
