Has Anyone Else Been Seeing Double?

While doing errands on Saturday I pulled up to a red traffic light behind another Titanium colored 4Runner like the one I was driving.
Next thing I know another Titanium colored 4Runner pulls up to the same light in the lane next to me.

Must have seemed strange to the other people at the traffic light seeing Three 4Runners all the same color all at the same time.
The Toyota Dealer I purchased my 4Runner from must be doing okay sales-wise since I also noticed all three 4Runners were from
my same dealer (one of three in the area).

Also noticed how popular Toyotas must be with the people that go to my church.
While walking into the church building this past weekend I noticed that in the row I parked in (about 14 vehicles), 9 of them were
Toyotas (Corollas, Camrys, RAV4, Highlander and 4Runner).

Ya know, a couple weeks after buying my 4Runner the Mrs. and I were in Nashua, NH. Pulled up to a stop light and in the left lane next to us another Salsa Red 4Runner Sport pulled up.

Even weirder is that I have Massachusetts Veterans plates on my rig and his had New Hampshire Veterans plates on it.

We were all chuckling about it at the stop light.

Here in Cincy, I see 4Runners on a daily basis. Most are either late model 3rd Gens or 4th Gens. Usually they are driven by soccer moms or dads, but occasional I'll see a younger guys and it's a very rare occasion if I see a modded T4R.

My friend owns a Jeep Willy, before that a Wrangler. Whenever I'm a passenger in his Jeep and another Jeep passes by they always put a hand up to acknowledge each other.

I've tried that with other 4runner drivers but rarely do I get a response. Of course I'd be waving all day long though if it turned.:)

I have counted 7 4Rs that look like mine in town, the only way my husband knows it is me if we pass each other is our dogs heads hanging out the windows :)

My dad has had a jeep for a long time and it's requirement when you're in it. I even warned my wife when she borrowed it for a weekend once. She thought I was joking till I saw her the next day and she said at first she didn't wave. But after the 3rd straight jeep waving at her she started it up.

Silver is everywhere here in San Diego. I find myself staring at other 4runners looking for small mods which make them stand apart from my truck. At times I feel like a dork cause I have the same Runner as everyone else...but my truck rocks bad gas habit and all.
:rocker:

That's a good story. It's just the way it is. :)

There's a good amount of them at the ski resort too. On my way two weeks ago, there was a black '06+ SE V8 and a '04-05 silver SR5 V6. I wonder if either one of those guys are members here.

I've seen just as many '06+ as the 2003-05 ones. There are more than five 4th gens within a three block or 10 minute walk. A few streets up where I live has three of 4th gens on the same block.

I see bunches of Galactic Grey ones around me.

Sorry to go off on a tangent... I see lots and lots of Toyotas around, and quite a few 4Runners, but I NEVER see any advertising in the local papers for 4Runners. For all the other Toyota species, there's all kinds of advertising. But not for 4Runners. I guess the 4Runners seem to sell themselves, since there aren't very many on the dealer's lot. But there seem to be lots running around the area.

Tons of 4th gens here but mines the only modded so far as I can tell.

Most I see are driven by "moms", and by most I mean like 98%.

over here ever since i got mine every other surf is silver. there are 2 whites, 2 light blue and a black supercharged one. sadly the guys in one of the blue ones are giving the rest of us a bad name by racing every car they see (tried it with me and i smoked him, i think his engine is blown).

it's sad but here when someone sees you have the same car as them they get pissed for some reason,.. very elitist mentality in this city,.. it's all "new money"

(do note that a 3 year old 4 runner will set you back $60000.00 over here due to the high taxes)

I'd hate to ask how much a Land Cruiser costs.

I see a lot of 4runner around my area, once when I first got mine, I was at Wal-Mart, and I walked to three other silver 3rd gens before I got to mine, each time thinking the previous one HAD to be mine.

Discovered that all of the others had roofracks and/or running boards, unlike mine...

With my new mods coming up though, it will NEVER be mistaken for another, though :D

I was at the driving range one day during lunch. On the way to the parking lot I dropped my keys. I went to my 4r and the remote wouldn't work, I thought it broke when it hit the pavement. I tried my key to unlock the door, and it wouldn't work. After two tries I looked inside and was surprised to find that it wasn't my 4r, I was parked another section over.
