Has anyone successfully sold their running boards?

If i remove and sell my running boards off my 2000 limited, will they fit any 3rd gen? Any advatage to removing them other than looks?

I sold mine for $100. It took a while but I finally sold them to a guy with a lifted limited. He wanted them because his wife said it was too high up and she needed a step hahaha.

Have any of you who removed running boards replaced them with front mud guards? I have removed mine and have the flares that stick out further than those 4Runners that never had running boards. Problem is I can't find mud guards that match up to the flares. I did order some from toyotapartscheap.com but they weren't the right ones. Anybody have a part number?

My 99 didn't have running boards, but the 2000 donor truck did.

Since they were the color matched ones (sport edition style), I was able to get $130 for them.

I guess it all depends where you live. I live in SoCal which is a heavily populated area, so I was able to sell mine for 75$ on CL without including the hardware that I misplaced somewhere at my buddy's house. Keep posting them on CL and be patient. Even with millions of people in close proximity, it still took me 2 months to sell them.

Okay, I'm sold!!! I removed one of my running boards tonight to see what it looked like...awesome!!!! I'm going to remove the other one and try my luck at selling them.

Just bubble wrap it and ship it don't worry about the box that is the way I have done a few sets
