Has this happened to anyone else?

So me and my wife go to the beach in FL to test out the 4x4 on this new 4runner and everything is going smoothly. We parked at the water and get out and on the way out the little plastic panel that has the power seat controlls comes off and i guess something breaks on the controlls. So a few seconds later the wiring going to the motors gets very hot and melts the plastic coating. Now the wire is bare and starts melting the carpet in the car. So here I am thinking the car is gonna go up in flames so I rip out the harness going to the whole assembly. Well.. needless to say the wire cools off. Keep in mind that we JUST BOUGHT this car last night. So we decide it best to get home before anything else happens. So I start the car and notice that the power windows, sunroof, back window, drivers side power seat and some other things dont work. Then driving down the road the breaks feel like they are loosing pressure. I have to keep pumping them up so they will still stop the car. So now the car is parked in my driveway and I'm about to explode... What would you do?

What year is your 4Runner? I assume you bought a used one since this is the 3rd gen section?

A lot of time-consuming & potentially confusing re-wiring may be needed; unless you enjoy this kinda thing and get a sense of accomplishment for it, I'd get it to a shop or dealer and prepare for a fairly hefty bill

i would return it. i bet they sell a piece of shit T4R to you.
