Have a question about auxiliary inputfor my single disc JBL

Hey guys, got a question...

If I bought an aux audio adapter, PIE TOY03-AUX, to hook into my single disc changer would I be able to install my Parrot bluetooth carkit and get it to play through the JBL sound system. This carkit doesn't not come with an external speaker, and normally routes calls through the sound system by tapping into the mute line of the radio. Since the radio doesn't have a mute line dedicated, I can't figure out a way to get it to work with the existing speakers. I figured if I had this adapter, I could splice into the adapter and get the phone kit to work that way. Does anyone have any idea if this would work? I know alot of people are using this adapters to trigger the audio for satellite radios. I would appreciate all help....

From what I understand, you have to use the CD changer control to access the aux input (manually), so I don't think you can have it automatically switch. I just ordered one, along with an OmniFi MP3 system, so I'll let you know if my guess is wrong.

I have the AUX-BOX adapter plugged into my Scion/Pioneer head unit, it works great.

It doesn't switch automatically to the Aux input, you have to press the CD button until you get to the display for the CD-Changer. (the CD button toggles between the internal CD and the Changer when it detects something plugged into the changer port)

Did you make sure to get both wiring harnesses? The Aux Box requires an AUX specific harness that plugs into the box, and a stock Toyota harness that plugs between the Aux harness and the stereo. I didn't get this when I first ordered my unit, but I was able to get the Toyota harness at a local Toyota dealer.

I ordered the dual input USA SPEC adapter from Crutchfield:

This is specific to 98+ Toyotas with factory changer controls. It arrived last night, so I haven't had time to look at it closely, but I did see 2 cables in the box. I won't know for sure until this weekend when I can pull the head unit (weather permitting).

That one looks pretty nice, I wish I'd have seen that before I bought the PAC.

It sounds like it comes with the Toyota harness in the box already, so you should be set.

Let me know how it works. I'm planning on getting Sirius Sat later this year, and it would be nice to have two inputs.

Yes, the dual input is one reason I bought it. I plan to run the second input to a 1/8" jack so I can plug in another MP3 player or other source.

I made a small light that fits in the "tissue" compartment under the armrest. It uses an LED designed for laptops (it plugs into a USB port), 3 AAA batteries, and a small mercury switch. When I lift the armrest, the light comes on & lights up the compartment - handy for finding CDs at night. I'll try to post a pic in the next week or so.
