have a question about tranny shifting in second

i have a 2002 sport with 48,000 on it got it from a dealer with 38,000....and when ever i start the car and the engine is cold i am driving and it seems like when it shifts into second it goes up to 3000 rpms its feels like it jerks not a big jerk but it dosnt really feel right but when the engine is warmed up wit shifts fine...should i get a complete tranny change?...i hope that doesnt sound like the tranny is goin.. anyone ever had this happen????

I also drive an 02 and what you are feeling is normal. The car is just holding a gear a bit longer to help it get to operating temp quicker, then when it does shift it feels a little harder than normal. Nothing to worry about. Of course if the fluid has never been changed its probably not a bad idea at almost 50k.
