Have Revo's always been this expensive?(Future tire purchase questions)

I bought my 4runner(see sig for info) about a year ago and its time to get new tires. Right around when I bought it I looked into the tire options for when I replace them and even though the Revos were more than most, they seemed middle of the pack in price.

I just checked tire rack and the revos for my car are $202 each plus shipping plus install. For around $140 I can get geolanders. Have Revos always been this much more?

For informational purposes, probably 98% of my miles are onroad but I still like the ability to take it off the road if need be and being able to drive through any snow I encounter.

If someone knows a better place to buy these than please let me know or suggest other tires to look at. The primary factors are quietness, great traction in a variety of conditions, and tread life. I'm not doing any mudding or technical offroading so knobby MT's or AT's are not necessary.

among a few things, one reason they may be a bit more $ for u is price goes up every size , 17's normally are a bit less than 18's & so on. also the newer revo 2, which has a design change, is more than the revo 1. two years ago the best price iin my area for the revo 1 in 17 was 175-185.

Rubber, and thus, tire prices are up pretty much across the board. There are still pockets of good value with various tires that have been around a while.

I have and like Revo 2, but I'd be all over the Geolanders for that price differential. It's a good tire.

My next tires are the same size but Michelin LTX M/S2

Look into the firestone destination at. I've ran these tires on other rigs in the past and they have done well. Tire rack also rates them very high, better than revos if memory serves me correctly. Best part is they are more affordable as well.

I put these on after General Grabbers, and they are fantastic. Quiet, smooth, I feel in control, great on the highway, great about town, great on mud roads, and great in heavy rain. And, based on reports, I'll assume they will be great in the snow and ice. They are supposed to be better than a mud tire anyway because they have more sipes.

The best part was cost and the 80,000km warranty.
