Having Radio Issues...Please Help??

So I installed my alpine hu in my limited, has JBL Synthesis, started with the scosche interface..sucks..took that back and bought the PAC TATO...now i have serious engine wine, it cut out on me twice tonight, and its not loud enough. Now i did set my volume before I installed it. I also read that the PAC recommends 4v Pre Outs, my HU only puts out 2v. So I am selling my HU and buying the Alpine CDE-123 which has 4v Pre Outs....

The help im asking for is...is there a better interface out there?? has anyone else had these same issues??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I really can't offer any help, BUT When I had problems, I would call Crutchfield. I'm assuming you didn't purchase your stuff with them.

tidbit: If you buy something from them, for example, I purchased speakers for my old Jeep, I would call them for other stuff. They told me that was ok and that I had some sort of "lifetime" tech support. Nice. They helped me locate the VSS in my Jeep even though I got lousy speakers from them.

I like the "new" you, hahhahahahaha. I gotta ask, how's the mileage on this rig compared to your old one?

hahahaha...it was bothering me a little bit...and the funny thing is as long as i had that name...last night i had just realized i put TR4 instead of T4R in the old name..hahaha

better....not as good when i first got the SR5..but it is a hell of alot better....breaking 250 miles when i fill up at a 1/4 of a tank....my iphone app has been saying that im averaging 16.whatever mpg which is pretty good for me...i kno it will get a little better when i run seafoam through it

Hearing engine wine can mean multiple things (as with most electrical problems):

-Have your alternator checked at Autozone
-Make sure your aftermarket wiring harness is connected well
(specifically check your ground and 12 volt constant, if there are any accessories attached to these wires, find a different 12 volt to attach them to)
-Check the antannae connection


Consider bypassing the stock AMP rather than trying to use it. Your H/U should be able to power the speakers no problem



I have a Pioneer BT 3400 5.8" System, Steering wheel control, infinity speakers, ZERO problems. I've worked in Car audio for 5 years now.

its def not an electrical problem because it didnt happen with the old scosche harness....I emailed PAC and they havent gotten back to me yet...this is getting frustrating
