Having trouble removing the tow hitch exhaust is in the way.

I tried pulling the exhaust a bit, can’t get my breaker bar to fit. I got all the other bolt off easily but this one bolt is being a nut.

If you cant get in there. you may have to disconnect your exhaust at a flange and re-gasket it to get it off. If your exhaust is custom or all welded together, this can be a very bad situation.

How about a super short socket with extensions? They make 6 point wrenches with a bar on the wrench. Crows feet would probably just strip the head off.

So if you don't have enough room your best bet is that 6 point wrench with the cheater pipe on it.

alright cause it’s oem i don’t have the tools/equipment nor do i have money to afford tools like that. I will be going to harbor freight tomorrow so a 6 point wrench with a cheater pipe i will definitely keep my eye out for one

I hear you. You just asked how to get it off... Those are tight... I pull them off with impact sockets and high power impacts.. If that doesn't work I put a pipe on my 2 ft long breaker bar. I have actually snapped those heads off those in a rust belt here.

Being in CA, at least you wont have to worry its is rusted together. Look on the bright side. ;-)

I am not sure harbor freight will have them.. they might. Home depot has 6 point wrenches gear wrench 14 piece kit for $53.38 (probably different pricing around the country)

Looking like 18, 19mm is the largest wrench in that particular kit. Some auto parts stores like you rent or buy and return tools too..

Did you try popping off the rubber exhaust hangers? That should drop the exhaust enough to get the breaker bar in there. All you need is some wd40 and a pry bar.

17mm 6 point wench with a pipe on it really should get that bolt loose. If it wont move, use a bigger pipe. Just make sure to keep that wrench on that head perfectly..

Agreed with Twisted Syd^ spray some WD40 or some white lithium grease all over and inside (if you can) the rubber hanger and that's usually all that's needed to wrestle it off. Then a BUNCH of pb blaster on that stuck bolt before taking a cheater bar to it. Using a 6-point socket will be crucial in avoiding stripping it, in my experience at least.

Windex works really well on those rubber hangers dries quickly and won’t leave an oily residue like WD or PB blaster.

If those rubber hangers are original, you may never get them off. I had to replace the ones up near that cat once and the rubber had solidified and it was NEVER coming off. I had to cut them.

In my case the hangers themselves mostly rust off...

Wow, people pay real money for those? I have one of each version in good shape that I'll never use. Going to grab them from my country shack and see if i can get a few bucks. I bought one of them for $10 (the bolted, flippable version), so I can't charge quite that much, though.

Yes lots of things the non rust belt areas take for granted are worth money here.

The issue is shipping. I bought a rust free hitch from [MENTION=139000]phattyduck[/MENTION] and we both were surprised at the cost. :/
