having trouble with MAINT warning light

Hello All,
I'm having trouble turning off the MAINT warning light. I turn the key to the lock position, hold down the trip reset button, and start the car while continuing to hold the trip reset button, but nothing happens. This is exactly wha the manual says to do.

I also connot get the tire pressue warning light to go off either.

I just had the oil changed and the tires air topped off, so both are good to go.

Any ideas???

1) Check the air pressure in your spare. It has a sensor too.
2) Turn the key off with total vehicle mileage displayed. Push and hold the reset button. Turn the key to the on position and with 7-10 seconds the maint light should flash and go out. DO NOT START THE VEHICLE. I think that's where you were going wrong...

Good to know ....although I have no idea what your talking about. The maint. light goes on for a reason. The TMPS pressure light is different from maint.light.

This is what worked for me:

1) Before you start your engine, press (and keep pressed) the Odometer button (not the trip button) on your dashboard.

2) Insert your key into the ignition and start the engine. In 2-3 seconds, the MAINT light will flash several times and disappear

hey i have the same things on my 4runner to the reason my tire pressure light is on is because the guy before me who owned the car had his spare tire replaced and the mechanic broke the sensor it is 150 dollars to fix from the dealer ship
