Late re-reading this, dunno if you ever pulled the DTC codes to see what the issue might be.

My wife's 2001 SR5 started with the TRAC and VSC lights a few years ago. Do not recall exactly how I got there, but the codes I found were not related to those systems. Reading up on the issue led to one of the O2 sensors being bad.

Bigger than heck, replaced it with one from Amazon, and all was well.

Pull the codes and do a search for that, might be the same thing. Was not a hard thing to pull the old sensor and screw the new one in.

Think this is the one I got, if it turns out to be the same issue:

Funny story, I replaced the air filter the other day, the ABS light is gone! Voila! Not sure how Toyota has these vehicle wired but hey that was a cheap fix if it did the trick, besides the air filter was a little dirty so either way it's a win.

Didn't find the Bio-clean, found some Rocky Mountain Wax Works - Water Spot Removal (acid based), recommended from the guys at O'Reilly's, it didn't work too well by following the instructions. paying for the service is like $200. I've read about multiple other water spot removal chemicals as well. It seems "the chemical brothers" make one of the best. My water stains are super stubborn!

I did see where I can buy the bio-clean online, I think the cheapest option was around $40. I may try my brand one more time and leave it on slightly longer, I saw recommendations too for windows, buying some sythetic steel wool and scrubbing the windows w/ the acid based cleaner... I've got some before pics I'll post and try to get some after as well.

Yea I used that same method when cleaning the water spots on our windows too. I used a green scotch bright pad and just "lightly" scrubbed it. First section I did was a little bit pressure and small swirl scratches started to form so you gotta be careful with it.

Before spending big money on the bio clean or the service your more than welcome to "try" a sample of my bio clean and see if it works for you. That way you don't want to waste 40$ if it doesn't.

FWIW, I got a permit to hike Poamoho this Saturday. Not really that exciting for driving, but it's not the H1. For those that live close to town, you can get permits for Poamoho and the Mokuleia forest reserves/Peacock flats in about 5 mins at the govt building on Puchbowl and Beretania, no need to fuss with the mail.

How was it? are you talking about peacock flats? thats actually more fun/interesting to me than kaena point. All the side trails in there got some pretty hard and technical stuff..

I see so many lifted/modded t4rs around and dont seem to find them on the forums.. maybe they are on a different one?

Sorry for the late reply, but nah, I'm back home finishing up my undergrad here at UH Hilo. Gonna graduate in December though and I'll be moving to Oahu early next year for grad school! Would be awesome to meet up sometime then and can bring my 4Runner, especially since there's a glimmer of hope for the Superferry haha

Haha no worries! Good to hear you had fun. I plan to check it out soon with my other half as as. Last time we went was probably over a year ago by now.. maybe even closer to 2 years...

I heard when it rains there, it rains hard. Then it gets sketchy on the way down? with all the mud and run offs?

Im sure you've heard by now, but Kaena point will be enforcing permits by dec 1st now..
although its free and good for one year at a time.

Just moved to Oahu (hawaii Kai) and was wondering if there would be a T4R 4runners club here. I have a 01 with 3" toytec suspension, 1" toytec body lift, and stubbs HD-SKO rock sliders. where do people go 4 wheeling here? trying to load pics...more to follow.

Welcome to the forums!
Unfortunately, for the many years i've been on the forums we have only had one successful meet and off road session. HAHA

For all the 4runners i see on the island its amazing there isnt a group or anything like that.

Where'd you move from?

Oahu doesnt have many places to offroad at all.. Only a few legal places and a few illegal places.

Most popular but very mellow and mostly 2wd friendly is Kaena Point. It has great views and is very remote. Used to be open to public and free whenever to offroad at but recently, as of Dec. 1st, will require a permit to offroad at..

Luckily the permit is free and good a year at a time. So not much has changed other than getting that permit and "supposedly" stricter rules..

Second top choice and a lot more challenging is Peacock Flats. Awesome place, need to get a permit before hand to go up and its only a few dollars..

Super awesome views and has a lot of side trails that are very challenging and overall great fun.

New meber to the forum but purchased a 05 Sport 4wd from a friend of mine and nothing realy too big rght now but a 3/2 lift and i have my wheels on stand by once the tires come in to 4WheelParts. Been to peacock flats before with some jeep freinds but don't think my 4runner would be too good on those trail but never hurts to try :clap2:
