Head Room And Tall Drivers

Ok, I know there are other posts on this, so forgive me...

...I just picked up a new 2006 Sport 4Runner with a sunroof and of course in all the test drive excitement, I didn't realize I have NO HEAD ROOM until I got home. I am 6'2 and I have about a finger's width of space between my head and the head liner.

Has anyone else had this issue at my height and how have you dealt with it? I am seriously considering giving my wife the 4Runner and go back and start over. I am so dissapointed in my purchase. I should have taken my time. (Although here at my dealer in Chicago, there were no models without the sunroof without special ordering one).

HELP!!! Can I take it into an upholstery shop to have some of the foam in the seat removed???

P.S. My inseam is only 34, therefore a disproportionate amount of my height is in my trunk (body, not T4R!).

I wouldn't be worked up about it though. I got about same clearance in mine 4wd SE 4R. Less than a half an inch space. But mine seat is upright and in the mid hight position. Even off road I did not feel cramed though. Try to lower the seat by adjusting the lever on the side of it, if that fails recline back some. Good luck.

I'm 6'1" and don't really have any problems. I don't have a lot of room, but I never have any problems with hitting my head. You'll probably get used to it. ???

I'm also 6'2" and 90% of sunroof equipped vehicles are no better than the 4R.....although at this height it's definetly far from disasterous.

I put the seat at or near the bottom of its height adjustment, not even the whole way back. Tilting the backrest back seems to help headroom somewhat also.

I've never had a problem with it regardless.....never hit my head or had trouble getting comfy.

I am also 6'2" and don't really have a problem with my sunroof. My seat is adjusted to it's lowest position and all the way back and the seat back is tilted somewhat, not a lot though.
I've hit my head on the headliner but only when I lift my butt to get out my wallet, otherwise I have no problem at all. I don't really feel cramped either.

i did have to play with the seat a little, but now i'm comfy...and i have a bit of headroom.
