Headed to Greece & Turkey

Well guys, I leave tomorrow for 10 days in Greece and Turkey. I'm taking my folks to Athens, Mikinos, Santorini, Izmir and Istanbul. I am nervous and excited. This will be my 1st trans-Atlantic flight and I don't know how the old Hogger's (affectionate nickname for the Hawker 800XPi) going to get airborne! You can't imagine the paperwork that's required.

We leave Atlanta for Gander at 14:30. We'll fuel in Gander then fly to Shannon Ireland for some more fuel then into Athens. Total air time will be 15 hours and another 2-3 for the fuel stops etc. I hope I can stay awake!:crybaby: The other pilot and I will take turns napping I'm sure.

After I wake up in Athens I should have internet. I am sure I'll snap some good Toyota pics in addition to all the others. I'll post 'em up.

I'll be careful at the beaches So Gay

I don't know how far you can watch me fly on this. It's pretty cool if interested... (BTW, that's a great site for watching airliners, looking at a specific airports activety or tracking a general aviation plane. Some plane #'s are blocked. Some planes fly using "fair weather rules" or VFR and they won't show up. A computer glitch sometimes makes it say "outcome unknown", that's not code for "they crashed", it's a glitch.)

I hope you have a fun and safe trip Chris. That tracker is neat stuff. Working for a big brother solutions provider, tracking can be both good or bad, depending how it's used.

BTW, that's a sharp looking plane.

What a fun trip! Athens and Istanbul are great places, both with so much history. And Istanbul -- where else can you be in a city that's on two continents?

The best part -- the food! Both places were great!

Have a fantastic time!

You'll enjoy it.
Lots to see and do.

(Word of caution about pickpockets at the major sites. Second worst I've seen, next to the gypsies in Florence.)

I can't go - as international travel right now is beyond my means. Instead of Greece & Turkey, I will have to settle for a turkey sandwich and some fries with lots of grease.
:hatsoff:

Good advice about the pickpockets. Then again, you need to be paranoid and watch out for them everywhere you go.
