Headlamp assembly replacement

Hi. Just purchased 2007 4runner. Prior owner was hit on driver side requiring new driver aftermarket (Eagle) headlamp assembly. I'm not that happy with light output compared to OEM headlamp on passenger side, so considering changing out the aftermarket.

Was looking at OEM replacement but price is very high ($220). Is there any good aftermarket replacement headlamps or should I just go for the OEM assembly?

thanks, Jon

Sounds as though you do care about light (beam) pattern. I've gotten aftermarket lights and HAVEN'T had any luck with them. They either leaks, were a weird "chrome" color and all of them dispersed the light quite terribly. Anyway, I would bite the bullet and get the OEM or find one in excellent shape on fleabay.

Thanks for the responses. Yes just put in new bulbs and aimed both beams according to specs. No problem with passenger side, but it looks like driver side cutoff is too low even though aimed at same height. Also driver side bulb sometimes shining a purplish color on the bumper of the car in front of me. Maybe I'll try adjusting driver side up a little and see what happens.

Cookieroe--yes I have similar complaint. Now to see if I will live with it. Also checking for used units.
Blackworksinc--thanks for the link too I will check them out.

Ok well it appears that for whatever reason, both of my headlamps are non oem Eagle Eyes headlights. Again they seem ok but I believe I could do better. It seems I have two choices:

1. Purchase two OEM headlights as replacements and hope that the beam pattern and light output are better than what I currently have. Prices are expensive for the OEM headlights in very good/new condition.

2. Purchase two aftermarket headlamp assemblies with HID lights as a kit. Any suggestions on brands if I go this route?

Any thoughts appreciated. thanks!
